This is in Refrigerator Canyon - usually the sun doesn't get down here, but we were hiking around noon.

Some of the trails in Zion were closed today because they were doing prescribed burning in the northern part of the park.
Dad, on probably the skinniest section of trail. There are approximately 1000 feet of nothing on either side.

We saw a lot of these shrubs in Utah, but I haven't looked up what they are yet. At lower elevations (this one is at about 5500 feet), some had already grown little white flowers.
